Youth Ministry

"But will your children be Jewish?" The youth of Hope of Israel seek to struggle well with life in Yeshua. Our ministry is to make disciples of any age, but young people face challenges that mere mortals cannot handle. Sex. Drugs. Acne. We need a higher power. In community, we are stronger. In the Lord, we are one.

We seek to encourage all of our youth in a Messianic framework. God loves all people, and everyone (ages 13-18) is invited to come fellowship with us at 9:30 AM.

Hope of Israel Youth is a ministry of Hope of Israel Congregation where young people gather for the purpose of knowing and glorifying Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah). We desire to see all young people, Jewish and non-Jewish, become committed to live as followers of Yeshua.

Presently our youth range from 13 through college/career age (21-ish), and meet for youth Shabbat School every Saturday morning at 9:30. Classes include a time of praise and worship music, and teaching from the Scriptures with group discussion on life issues. A mid-week Youth service will likely begin in the near future.

Young people today grow up in a fast-paced world of media hype, confusing (at best) moral standards, and distorted ideas about God, and themselves. "Where there is no vision, the people perish (cast off restraint): but he that keeps the law, happy is he."¹

God loves young people! However, peer pressure, “sex, drugs and rock-n-roll (or ‘hip hop’, ‘metal’, or whatever)” are as prevalent and dangerous as ever, and take a toll on the lives of millions of youth today. I’ve ‘been there, done that’, myself, and as HOI Youth leader, my desire is to help young people discover, in a Jewish context, who the God of Israel is and how they can know Him in a personal way. By so doing, they can recognize and avoid the destructive influences in our society, and instead discover who they are, their place in this world, and God’s awesome purpose for their lives! As HOI is growing our vision also is growing. Consequently, we are a fellowship in the process of constant development by God.
